Midrow is a place to track, rate and talk about films and series with friends. We collect only what the app needs to work. We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t use tracking or advertising analytics.
What we store when you have an account
- Account: your email address and a sign-in record, used to log you in and send account emails (such as confirming your address).
- Profile: your name, handle, bio, photo, cover and the country you pick for where-to-watch.
- Your activity: titles you rate, watch, want to watch or follow; lists, posts, stories, comments, reactions, ticket stubs, hot takes, movie nights, watch parties and game scores.
- Social: who you follow, who you block, titles you send to friends, and reports you file.
- Notifications: if you turn on push notifications, the push address your browser gives us, so we can notify you about follows, invites and things friends send you.
- Error reports: when something breaks, a short technical report (error message, page address, browser type) so we can fix it.
Who can see what
Your profile, posts and activity are visible to other Midrow members according to your settings. You can make your account private and choose who sees what you’re watching (everyone, your followers, or friends who follow you back). Blocking someone hides you from each other.
Lumé, the assistant
When you ask Lumé something, your message, together with taste details that help it answer (such as titles you’ve rated and your where-to-watch country), is sent to Anthropic, which provides the AI model, to produce the reply. We don’t keep your Lumé conversations on our servers. Anthropic handles this data under its commercial terms and does not use it to train its models.
Services we rely on
- Supabase stores accounts and app data.
- Vercel hosts the app.
- Anthropic powers Lumé.
- TMDB provides film and series information and images.
- JustWatch data shows where a title is streaming. Following a where-to-watch link takes you to that service.
- YouTube plays trailers (using its privacy-enhanced mode) when you choose to watch one.
These providers process data only to provide their service to Midrow.
On your device
Midrow keeps a few things in your browser’s storage, such as your sign-in session, cached app files for offline use, and small preferences like hiding the install card. There are no advertising cookies.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Edit profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, profile, photos and everything you posted or saved. It can’t be undone. If you can’t sign in, email support@midrow.app from the address on your account and we’ll delete it for you.
You can also ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it by writing to the same address.
Children
Midrow is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has an account, contact us and we’ll remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change matters.
